The Last Time

So this is the last post, huh.

This will be the last time most of us will write on our blogs and do something related to the class “Creative Writing”. Sorry, Nelson. We all love you, but not all of us are going to try to keep coming up with new material to add to these things. That’s your job.

But who’s to say that we will stop being creative?

Just because our time going to creative writing is coming to an end, it does not mean that our creative abilities will not be ongoing(I have no idea what that means when I say it out loud but I feel the need to leave it in because that is how my creative abilities have changed in this class!). We may continue to follow the teachings of Mr. Nelson and the examples of the students before us in his class( except that one girl Nelson told us about who did something crazy with a poem of hers. You know whom I’m talking about. DON’T FOLLOW HER EXAMPLE, PLEASE!). And who knows when these skills will come in handy down the road. Maybe some of us will become like Ken Miles who helped Ford beat Ferrari at their own game. Or maybe like James Veitch who comes up with hilarious ways to respond to spam emails.

The point is, we will all still be creative after we leave. That’s something that will never change. We just need to see where it takes us from here.

(Hey! Nelson! That’s a good journal prompt for your next class! When will creativity help someone later in their life? Just an idea!)

Heart

What are some things that I take to heart?

Well, that’s an interesting question. I certainly don’t want to reveal everything that I take to heart. I still have my secrets, even though we revealed who we all are last week. But then again, that might make this easier for me to answer.

For one, I care deeply about how well I do in school. Not just about my grades I get, but also how I’m handling life at school. Am I doing the best I can? Am I the kind of person others see me as? Am I enjoying the classes I’m taking? That sort of thing.

Another thing I take to heart are the relationships that I have with the people I know. I try to keep these relationships strong because I don’t want to be one of those people that ends up friendless after high school. That’s terrifying(oooh, that should have gone on the Fears post!).

And, of course, I also try to take my everyday activities/hobbies to heat as well, because if you don’t care about the small things you do that make you happy, what else makes you happy? Besides creative writing of course.

Yes, Nelson. I take that to heart as well.

Who I am/we are

Hello everyone! You’re all wondering who the writer behind “twomindsthesame” is supposed to be. You all must be expecting some kind of huge reveal with an amazing video that has some huge twist that reveals who I am; like that one blogger who just sat in front of the camera doing nothing or the other guy who claimed that his dog wrote his blog posts for him.

While that may be something I thought of doing, I thought I’d keep things simple(mostly because I couldn’t come up with a way to upload a video. It might have been easy for some of you but I couldn’t figure it out, so don’t talk garbage about it, alright?).

So I’ll just come out and say it: Quaid Wallace has been the one writing these posts, and the fact that my name is marked as spelled wrong by spell check is ridiculous to me.

So you might have been wondering why I’ve been making posts that are just conversations with an unknown person (He’s talking about me, by the way). That person is actually myself. It’s something interesting that I do with myself at times. You know how you always have that moment where you make an important decision and you turn the possible results of the said decision in your head a few times? For me, that happens more time then not, so I started talking to myself like I was a different person. Strange, I know, but everyone likes to get a second opinion from someone else when they have a big decision to make. And who else is better to trust than yourself? After all, you are the best person you know, right?

Besides. People like to be alone with their thoughts sometimes, and others like the have company. I’m the kind of person who likes both. So I came up with a way to combine the two. Plus, it made for a really good idea for a pen name, if you ask me(or me).

Fear

What are people afraid of?

That’s a good question.

Indeed. Especially because everyone is afraid of something different. I mean, you’re afraid of small dogs, for example.

So are you.

Touche

Of course, whom or what’s to say that people should be afraid?

What do you mean?

Well, fear is by definition a survival instinct. It’s what inspires the “fight or flight” response we’re all familiar with.

Is that a direct quote?

Of course not.

Huh. I could have sworn I said that.

Well in any case, the reason I say that fear is a good thing is because it helps set a limit to what a person can or can’t do, and when they know when to stop doing something.

I have to say I agree with you.

That’s a relief. It would be ludicrous if you didn’t.

Now that’s a scary thought.

Indeed.

Bricks

What can a brick be used for? Let’s see:

Building material(obvious, I know), door stopper, door jam, use to throw at a window to break it, to trow through a window to deliver a note to, paper weight, offensive weapon, defensive weapon, barricade(requires multiple bricks), an opponent for the muppet “Gonzo” two wrestle while blindfolded(if you’ve never seen “The Muppet Show”, that reference is totally and completely lost on you), a bed for a video game character named “Wreck-it Ralph”, build an item block for an Italian plumber to use to help rescue a princess captured by a giant turtle monster, a funny way to fend off two bank robbers who robbed a children’s toy store on Christmas eve of all it’s money going towards a children’s hospital, something to put under a car when you remove all the tires, a really cheap Christmas present, a journal prompt for your creative writing class, and something to write about in your creative writing journal in that same creative writing class.

Huh.

That was easier than I thought.

Songs involving love

“Back to life” – Rascal Flatts

“Hey Brother” – Avicii

“May we all” – Florida Georgia Line

“Love Wins” – Carrie Underwood

“Best Shot” – Jimmie Allen

“One number away” – Luke Combs

“Speechless” – Dan + Shay

“Wanted” – Hunter Hays

“See you again” – Wiz Khalifa

“Love Ain’t” – Eli Young

(I think I have too many songs on my playlist that involve love in some way)

Love

Nobody knows what love is.

Love is something that comes out of no where. It’s not something that a person recognizes the moment they get it. I mean, unless you consider “true love’s kiss” or “love at first sight” in the movies. Those are always guaranteed you feel them at once.

But seriously. Love isn’t that simple. To quote from the play “The Drowsy Chaperone” : “You’ll want to hug them one moment, then want to strangle them the next”(I should quickly note that I do not remember if that is the correct quote, so don’t sue me for plagiarism).

Yet love is something that everyone can’t live without. You can see it everywhere you go. It’s like there’s a definition of love somewhere(please don’t go looking up the definition after reading this. You’ll ruin my message here).

… … … (4)

So Halloween happened last week.

Yes it did. So what did you do for the holiday?

You should know. You were with me.

Oh yeah. We went around with our friend who blasted music while we were trick or treating with his little brother.

And then we scared our one friend. That was funny, wasn’t it?

As I recall, you ended up running and screaming from our friend.

You were there too. Also screaming, I might add.

Fair enough. And it was the highlight of the night, I admit.

Our friend was happy! I should quickly add. The way you say it sounds like we enjoy scaring people.

Good save.

Well, I know we both have other things to attend to. I’ll let you get to it.

And I to you.

Skeletons

Spooky scary skeletons

send shivers down your spine

shrieking skulls will shock your soul

seal your doom tonight

Spooky scary skeletons

speak with such a screech

you’ll shake and shudder in surprise

when you hear these zombies shriek

We’re so sorry skeletons

you’re so misunderstood

you only want to socialize

but I don’t think we should,”

Of course we shouldn’t! Remember Jack Skellington from ‘A Nightmare before Christmas”? Do we really want a repeat of that incident?
